The American company operates in over thirty countries and was ranked number 4 best overall diets in 2017 and the best weight-loss diet. The company was started with the objectives of assisting customers to lose weight and achieve fitness goals. The firm does this through group support, points system, learning sessions and meetings.

So Is Weight Watchers a scam? Here are a few things that make Weight Watchers an incredible fitness and weight loss plan;

The Points

Weight Watchers’ points are its hallmark. It focuses on points rather than calories. This bears in mind that not all calories are created equal.

No Food Group Elimination

With Weight Watchers, you are free to eat all food.

The Education

Weight Watchers recognizes that every person’s goals, body chemistry, and makeup are unique. Weight Watchers enable you to learn the best and the worst choices for your diet and your body. It helps you understand nutrition and weight loss better on your own.

Besides helping you understand your choices, it also guides on healthier recipes, portions and what to settle on when you are eating in a restaurant.

Aside from the diet, you can get Fit points and can use Fitbit to track your exercise. The tracking system motivates you to take your workout seriously to earn more Fit points.

The Weight Watchers Community

One of the best components of Weight Watchers is the community. Weight Watchers accords a support system for those who are hoping to shed some pounds. This support helps with controlling cortisol which contributes to the accumulation of belly fat. Having others to motivate you is extremely crucial in the weight loss journey as it is easier to practice a healthy lifestyle when you have a shared experience.

Members may also access personal coaching. Personal coaches give more personalized attention and guidance. The coaching is an integral part of the Weight Watchers program. What is more, Weight Watchers allows you to tag your children along in some special meetings.

Drawbacks Of The program

According to reviews by Weight Watchers’ users, the company bills its clients without prior warning making it seem like the company is only concerned with its customers’ credit card details so that it can milk them dry. Which begs the question, Is Weight Watchers a scam? Why would a company charge you without checking with you? Some consumers complain that they are billed six weeks in advance, a move that is considered unethical.

Weight Watchers also charges a substantive amount of money for its programme. The fees can be said to be exorbitant as compared with other diet plans some of which are absolutely free.

Some users have also voiced concerns over the points system. The system might actually encourage you to resort to unhealthy eating habits as it steers you to carb-dense foods. The fact that weight watchers focus mainly on weight is also problematic as it may not be suitable for people undertaking resistance training.

Although Weight Watchers provides for a balanced diet, it may pose a problem to people who are unsure of whether they have food allergies. The non-restrictive dietary plans offered may also make losing weight harder as compared with restrictive diet plans. The freedom to eat whatever you want to eat can be a bit tempting and can make you backtrack on your goals.

The weekly meetings can also be quite expensive for many people. You have to pay a weekly fee for every meeting you attend. Furthermore, some people may not be comfortable with sharing personal weight loss information, and the sessions may not work for them. The group-atmosphere may also not work for people who prefer working individually.

Counting the smart points can be an arduous task. For dieters who want a simple approach to eating, counting the Weight Watchers smart points may be time-consuming. Another thing that customers may find unappealing is the weekly progress checks. People may become discouraged if they fail to meet their weekly targets.

Is Weight Watchers a scam? This is entirely dependent on personal experience. Some people have benefitted immensely from the program. It would, therefore, be incorrect to say that the entire thing is a scam. Is Weight Watchers A Scam? The main drawback of the program is the expenses; it might not be the best option for people looking to cut expenses.

Hello, Edward. I agree totally that Weight Watchers is a good way to hold someone accountable for what they ingest. I did Weight Watchers a number of years ago, and lost 20 pounds!! It’s a great program for someone who doesn’t want to count calories, but can still gauge what they’re putting into their body. Nice post!
